Point of Product
Description
Innovative tools that remove bottlenecks from drug discovery processes are critical in the race for new medicinal therapies. As sample sizes get smaller and more numerous, the effectiveness of the sample preparation and screening process can either facilitate the discovery of a life-saving drug or contribute to its failure. Pall AcroPrep 384-well Filter Plates enables laboratories to process hundreds of samples simultaneously and have been designed for high volume, high throughput applications.
When used in the drug discovery environment AcroPrep 384-well Filter Plates can help optimize the identification of novel leads, helping drug development scientists quickly and reliably sift through thousands of targets in the search for those with promise.
The filter plates are constructed from chemically-resistant and biologically-inert polypropylene and are supplied with a clear polystyrene lid. They feature a robotic-friendly design that has a single-piece construction and complies with the ANSI/SBS X-2004 standards. The rigid one-piece construction ensures that the filter plates do not flex and jam in liquid handling robots.
Pall filter plates feature a serialized barcode label that allows for the use of automated tracking systems and identifies the membrane type.
Using a patented technology, the Pall’s384 multi-well filter plate design eliminates lateral cross contamination, or "crosstalk", that can lead to incorrect results. Crosstalk occurs when the signal from one well inadvertently enters adjacent wells. Pall filter plates eliminate this confounding problem by individually sealing each well so signals cannot travel from one to the other. To further reduce the possibility of cross contamination each well has a fluid director outlet tip.
Based on application AcroPrep 384-well Filter Plates are available with two different types of outlet tips, long or short. Both types of outlet tips can be used for filtrate or retentate based applications, however a longer tip version is recommended for critical filtrate studies.
AcroPrep 384, Long Tip
Can be used for both filtrate and retentate based applications. Outlet tips extend beyond the skirt of the plate and pilot into the wells of a receiving plate.
AcroPrep 384, Short Tip
Can be used for both filtrate and retentate based applications. Outlet tips are recessed beneath the skirt of the plate.
